Common Questions About ALDI Returns
The Full Picture: ALDI Returns
Aldi's headline feature is the Twice as Nice Guarantee, and it's exactly what it sounds like: return an Aldi-brand food product you're not happy with and get both your money back and a replacement. It's a bold policy that only works because Aldi controls most of its supply chain through private-label brands.
The guarantee has conditions, though. You need a receipt. You need to bring back the remaining product and its packaging — not just the receipt and a story. The item must be an Aldi-exclusive brand, not a national brand they occasionally stock. And it needs to be a food item; non-food ALDI Finds (those limited-time special buys) get a standard return, not the double benefit.
Alcohol is the main exception. State liquor laws vary, and some states prohibit retailers from accepting alcohol returns. In states that allow it, Aldi may take back wine or beer, but it's not guaranteed.
The standard return window is 90 days for most items, which is generous for a grocery store. Non-food items like kitchen gadgets, home goods, and seasonal ALDI Finds fall under the same 90-day window. These are straightforward refunds — no replacement included.
Aldi is in-store only for returns. They don't have a meaningful e-commerce operation for grocery delivery in most markets, so there's no mail return infrastructure. If you bought it at Aldi, you return it at Aldi.
