Common Questions About Nike Returns

The Full Picture: Nike Returns

Nike lets you wear shoes for a full 60 days and still return them. This is a genuine trial period, not a technicality. Within those 60 days, you can run in the shoes, wear them to the gym, take them on a hike, and return them if they don't work for you. The soles can have wear. The insoles can be compressed. That's the whole point.

After 60 days, the policy flips entirely: items must be unworn and unwashed with original tags attached. If you've been on the fence about a pair of running shoes for two months and finally decide they're causing knee pain, you're past the point of no return on worn product. The 60-day window is generous but has a hard edge.

Nike By You custom shoes follow the same 60-day trial policy. You can design a pair of Air Force 1s online with custom colors and materials, wear them for three weeks, and still return them. Most shoppers assume personalized products are final sale, but Nike treats them the same as any other shoe in the lineup.

Nike covers manufacturing defects for up to 2 years from the manufacture date. If your shoes develop sole separation, a blown air bubble, or a seam failure (distinct from normal wear), Nike will consider a warranty claim. That date is stamped inside the shoe on the interior label, not the purchase date. A shoe manufactured 18 months ago and sold to you last month might have more warranty time left than you'd expect.

Return shipping is free for Nike Members, which is a free loyalty program. Non-members can still return, but may need to cover return shipping for mail returns.
