REI Co-op Members get a full year to return most gear. Non-members still get 90 days. Used gear is accepted if in fair condition.

REI offers 90-day returns for non-members and a 1-year return window for REI Co-op Members on most items. Returns are accepted in-store or by mail with no fees. Membership purchases are tracked digitally.
Bought something at REI? You have 90 days.

Do You Need a Receipt to Return to REI?
REI Co-op Members have all purchases tracked in their account for easy receipt-free returns
Alternative proof of purchase:
- REI Co-op member account history
- Email order confirmation
- Original receipt
What Condition Do Items Need to Be In?
Items should be in usable condition. REI accepts returns on gear that has been used for a fair trial period, but items that are worn out from normal use are not eligible.
What Are REI's Return Exceptions?
Not all items follow the standard 90-day rule. Review the exceptions below.
