HomeGoods Return Policy
HomeGoods gives you 30 days with a receipt. Without one, you get store credit at the lowest marked-down price — not what you paid.
HomeGoods Return Policy
HomeGoods offers 30-day returns with receipt. Without a receipt, returns receive non-transferable merchandise credit. Part of the TJX Companies (same parent as TJ Maxx and Marshalls). Returns accepted at any HomeGoods store.

Common Questions About HomeGoods Returns
The Full Picture: HomeGoods Returns
HomeGoods operates under the TJX Companies umbrella alongside TJ Maxx and Marshalls, and the return policies are nearly identical. You get 30 days with a receipt for a full refund. Past that, or without a receipt, you're looking at merchandise credit at whatever the item is currently selling for — which, at an off-price retailer, might be less than what you paid.
The cross-store return option is genuinely useful. If there's no HomeGoods near you but there's a TJ Maxx or Marshalls, you can return there. Same parent company, same system. This also means if one store's return desk is giving you trouble, you can try another TJX store.
HomeGoods is in-store only for returns. There's no mail-in option, which makes sense given they're primarily a brick-and-mortar treasure-hunt retailer. You buy in the store, you return in the store.
The holiday extension runs from early October through Christmas Eve, with returns accepted through late January. This is standard for TJX stores and gives holiday shoppers a reasonable buffer. Note that the extension only applies to items purchased during that window — not to all items in your house.
The no-receipt process requires a government-issued photo ID. HomeGoods tracks returns by ID, so frequent no-receipt returns can be flagged or declined. If you shop there regularly, keep your receipts or use a TJX Rewards card so purchases are tracked.
